The assistance to refugees offered on site is the most real and concrete, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in a spot published on the PMs Office Twitter account on Tuesday.
"We will offer technical and financial assistance in the most effective way," he added.
"The assistance to refugees is the most real and concrete when offered on site, in countries which they want to leave or which they want to return to, in which they prefer to stay but where they have no appropriate living conditions, where they cannot send their children to school and where they have no access to health services," the PM, who is on a visit to Lebanon, said.
"We, the Polish people, Polish humanitarian missions and the Polish government help these people here, on site. This is the most effective assistance," PM Morawiecki said, stressing that Poland offered this assistance through its technical and logistics support.
"And we want to take part in the construction of homes here - I hope that Polish companies will participate in this project so that refugees remain here, in Lebanon or Syria," he went on to say.
Morawiecki stressed that during his meetings with European partners, he always stressed that "being a sovereign country, Poland has the right to decide about its migration policy: who to admit and who not to admit."
"But I am also convinced that we show what solidarity means in a very concrete way," he added.
"It is worth stressing that this kind of assistance is the most precious for the Lebanese government. We will be offering our financial and technical aid in the most effective way, both from the point of view of refugees on site and from the point of view of the interests of the Polish state," PM Morawiecki declared.
