Deputy Interior Minister Jarosław Zieliński said that the number of complaints about police officers who were wearing such cameras was significantly lower than before tests started.
Trials of 180 cameras were carried out over four months in the Polish capital, in the countrys northeastern Podlaskie region and in Lower Silesia, in the southwest.
A tender for the purchase of 2,110 cameras will now be held, with a supplier to be selected by the end of August, public broadaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The devices will be handed out this year and next to police around the country, IAR added.
