Швейцария арестовала 15 миллионов евро, которые Украина выделила в качестве гарантии для проведения Евровидения-2017 в Киеве. Залог в размере 15 миллионов евро был предоставлен Европейскому языковому союзу, как финансовая гарантия для подготовки и проведения Евровидения-2017. Как сообщили в пресс-службе UA: Первый, после успешного проведения конкурса залог в полной сумме должны были вернуть Украине Однако, ЕВС сообщила, что Женевское управление принудительного взыскания задолженности инициировало процедуру наложения ареста на сумму финансовой гарантии. Об основаниях наложения ареста и инициатора процедуры – ЕВС не сообщила. "Мы наняли юридическую фирму из Швейцарии, поскольку нужно выяснить все обстоятельства дела и определить порядок применения процедуры наложения ареста в соответствии со швейцарским законодательством", – заявил Зураб Аласания. Это уже не первый финансовый скандал, связанный с проведением Евровидения-2017 в Украине. Так, скандалы разгорелись вокруг цены красной дорожки и гонораров украинских исполнителей. К слову, оргкомитет Евровидения-2017 отчитался о расходах и доходах в результате проведения песенного конкурса в Украине. Всего Украина потратила на конкурс 20,4 миллионов евро (603 миллионов гривен). На счетах после конкурса осталось 277 миллионов гривен. Еще 142 миллиона из этой суммы должны выплатить. На продажах билетов Украина заработала на 65% больше прогнозируемой суммы – 72,5 миллиона гривен. Напомним, финал Евровидения-2017 прошел в Киеве 13 мая. В финале за первенство соревновались 26 участников. Победителем Евровидения-2017 стал участник от Португалии – Сальвадор Собрал с песней "Amar Pelos Doi". По результатам голосования жюри и телезрителей Сальвадор Собрал получил 758 баллов. Представитель от Украины группа O.Torvald за результаты голосования получили лишь 36 баллов. Таким образом O.Torvald с песней Time заняли 24 место из 26.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
