Швейцарія заарештувала заставу від України в розмірі 15 мільйонів євро через позов європейського інформаційного телеканалу Euronews до Національної громадської телерадіокомпанії України. Про це повідомляє DW з посиланням на власні джерела. Водночас у Національній громадській телерадіокомпанії України повідомили, що, всупереч повідомленням ряду російських ЗМІ, Європейський мовний союз (EBU) не був ініціатором блокування коштів на швейцарських рахунках. За оцінками EBU, пісенний конкурс в Києві пройшов успішно. Телекомпанія отримала відповідне підтвердження з вдячністю від організації громадських мовників. "Процедура накладення арешту ініційовані не Європейською мовною спілкою, а третьою стороною, яку ми намагаємося встановити", – йдеться у повідомленні. Співпрацю з Euronews Національна телекомпанія України припинила в 2014. До цього Euronews планував запустити мовлення українською мовою. Після ініціювання припинення співпраці телеканал зажадав стягнути з НТКУ неустойку в розмірі 10,59 мільйонів євро. У жовтні 2016 року Господарський суд Києва визнав законність претензій європейської компанії. НТКУ оскаржила вердикт у суді вищої інстанції, проте програла справу. У квітні 2017 року Київський апеляційний господарський суд залишив без змін вирок українського суду першої інстанції. В EBU поки не коментують ситуацію з арештом 15 мільйонів євро застави від України. Нагадаємо, 22 червня Женевське управління примусового стягнення заборгованості арештувало 15 мільйонів євро, які Україна виділила як гарантію для проведення Євробачення-2017 у Києві. Це вже не перший фінансовий скандал, який повязаний із проведенням Євробачення-2017 в України. Відтак, скандали розгорілися навколо ціни червоної доріжки та гонорарів українських виконавців.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
