Популярний рокер, вокаліст гурту Linkin Park Честер Беннінгтон вчинив самогубство 20 липня – саме в цей день народився його друг лідер групи Soundgarden Кріс Корнелл, який аналогічним чином пішов із життя 17 травня. Про це пише відомий музичний журналіст Михайло Козирєв у своїй авторській колонці на сайті телеканалу "Дождь". "Беннінгтон дуже дружив з лідером групи Soundgarden Крісом Корнеллом, який покінчив життя самогубством в травні 2017 року. Честер навіть співав на його похоронах і опублікував дуже пронизливий лист в його память. "Я не можу уявити життя без тебе", – зазначив Беннінгтон у листі, який опублікував у себе в твіттері в день смерті того. У четвер, 20 липня, був день народження Корнелла, йому б виповнилося 53 роки", – зауважив він. Крім того, журналіст підкреслює, що Беннінгтон упродовж тривалого часу боровся з пристрастю до алкоголю та наркотиків. "В одному з інтервю він говорив, що думки про самогубство відвідували його і раніше, тільки він повязував це з тим, що в дитинстві став жертвою сексуального насильства. Подробиць ніхто не знав, а він про це не розповідав", – додав Козирєв. Нагадаємо, раніше сайт "24" повідомляв про трагічну смерть лідера гурту Linkin Park Честера Беннінгтона, який покінчив із життям самогубством. Згодом слідчі Лос-Анджелеса підтвердили факт інциденту. До слова, у день смерті свого вокаліста Linkin Park опублікували останній кліп.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
