Гран-при 42-го Фестиваля польских художественных фильмов в Гдыне получил фильм «Тихая ночь» (Cicha noc) дебютанта в роли режиссера Петра Домалевского. Награды фестиваля были розданы во время торжественной церемонии в Музыкальном театре в Гдыне. Во время получения «Золотого льва» Пётр Домалевский сказал: «Я надеюсь, что не очнусь от этого сна, а если очнусь, то это не окажется сном, что всё это происходит на самом деле. В течение полутора лет ежедневно по 12 часов я создавал этот фильм, и я очень благодарен. Мне всегда казалось, что картина, созданная простыми художественными приемами, является беззащитной, нуждается в принятии зрителем такой формулы. К моему удивлению, все это имело место». «Тихая ночь» - это рассказ в камерном стиле о польской семье из провинции, которая пытается справиться с рядом проблем, связанных, среди прочего, с эмиграцией. Роль первого плана в фильме сыграл Давид Огродник, получивший на фестивале премию в категории за лучшую мужскую роль. Как рассказал член жюри кинофестиваля в Гдыне режиссер Павел Павликовский, фильм «Тихая ночь» вызвал немало эмоций. «Видно, что фильм был снят с большой любовью», - отметил режиссер. Всего в этом году за главную награду кинофестиваля боролись 17 фильмов, из которых 8 фильмов – это дебютные работы. Среди кандидатов были работы известных польских режиссеров – фильм «След зверя» (Pokot) Агнешки Холланд и фильм «Искусство любви. История Михалины Вислоцкой» (Sztuka kochania. Historia Michaliny Wisłockiej) Марии Садовской. «Серебряного льва» получил фильм Иоанны Кос-Краузе и ушедшего из жизни три года назад Кшиштофа Краузе «Птицы поют в Кигали» (Ptaki śpiewają w Kigali) о геноциде против тутси в Руанде. Награды за режиссерскую работу получили Агнешка Холланд и Катажина Адамик. IAR/es

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
