Народный артист Украины Анатолий Хостикоев считает, что Богдан Ступка был великим актером, однако он оказался "небезопасен" для остальных артистов в качестве художественного руководителя Национального академического драматического театра имени Ивана Франко. Об этом Хостикоев рассказал в авторской программе Дмитрия Гордона на телеканале "112 Украина". "Богдан Ступка – это родной для меня человек, мы начинали с Театра имени Марии Заньковецкой во Львове, я уважал его как старшего товарища (он на 13 лет меня старше), обращался тогда к нему на "вы"... Но нужно ведь понимать, что Ступка-актер и Ступка-худрук – две разные личности. Во-первых, власть меняет человека, во-вторых, когда театром руководит актер, да к тому же прекрасный, великий, это небезопасно для остальных актеров", – сказал Хостикоев. Он добавил, что не может объяснить, почему с 2001-го по 2011 год у него не было новых ролей в Национальном академическом драматическом театре имени Ивана Франко, которым тогда руководил Ступка. "Я задавал Ступке вопросы. Наедине мы с ним на "ты" общались, и я спрашивал: "Богдан, почему для меня нет роли?" Он отвечал: "Не". Вот так, буквально! Проходит еще какое-то время – я говорю: "Богдан, два года прошло, хочется что-то играть..." – "Не!" Была у него такая манера общения – он мог весьма артистично из себя выводить. "Богдан, – говорю, – почему на гастроли мои спектакли не берут?" – "Не!" Ну после пятого "не" можно было уже сорваться и что угодно сделать, но я его все-таки уважал и потому просто взял и в 2003 году организовал театральную компанию "Бенюк и Хостикоев". Но это "не", конечно, меня теребило: почему "не", на каком основании?" – рассказал Хостикоев. As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
