По словам главы госагентства по вопросам кино Филиппа Ильенко, если кинопрокат и дальше будет развиваться только как структура, обслуживающая интересы иностранного кино, то необходимо введение значительно более строгих санкций за нарушение установленных квот.

По его словам, сумма штрафа за несоблюдение квот на показ украинских фильмов в кинотеатрах составляет всего 1,5 тысячи гривен (около 58 долларов по курсу Нацбанка), такой суммой "вряд ли можно повлиять на менеджмент более или менее серьезного кинотеатра". "Но если украинский кинопрокат и дальше будет развиваться только как структура, обслуживающая исключительно интересы иностранного кино, откуда бы оно ни происходило, то своевременным является введение значительно более строгих санкций за нарушение установленных законом квот на показ национальных фильмов, а также механизмов контроля за их выполнением", — написал Ильенко на своей странице в Facebook во вторник. Парламент в сентябре 2016 года принял закон о государственной поддержке кинематографии. Документ предусматривает финансовую поддержку украинского кино и сериалов за счет средств местных бюджетов. По мнению авторов, закон позволит увеличить долю украинских фильмов в кассовых сборах страны с 2,5% до 25%. Законодательство Украины предусматривает 30% экранного времени на показ фильмов украинского производства в кинотеатрах.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
