Організатори Євробачення-2018 представили ескіз сцени, куди вийдуть учасники міжнародного пісенного конкурсу, який пройде в столиці Португалії – Лісабоні. Як повідомляється на сайті конкурсу Євробачення-2018, дизайн головної арени конкурсу був розроблений Флоріаном Відер, який раніше відповідав за кілька проектів Євробачення, в тому числі працював в Києві в 2017 році. "Цього разу його надихнув на роботу корпус корабля, який відображає історію і культуру країни-господині конкурсу – Португалії", – йдеться в повідомленні. Сцена буде виконана в стилі "Океан": динамічні хвилі-трансформери, інтегровані фонтани і небачені технології. Місцем проведення конкурсу стане арена Meo Arena – третій за величиною критий стадіон в Європі і найбільший в Португалії. Відзначається, що Meo Arena може прийняти 20 тисяч глядачів. Логотип конкурсу нагадує морську раковину, і офіційний девіз – "Всі на борт!". Перший і другий півфінали Євробачення-2018 заплановані на 8 і 10 травня 2018 року, фінал – на 12 травня. As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
