Скульптори використовували сучасні технології 3D-сканування, щоб точно відтворити обличчя героїв. Фігури настільки реалістичні, що можна потиснути їм руку. І це лише маленька частина українського варіанту більш сучасного музею воскових фігур. Чотири фігури захисників Донецького аеропорту, відомих "кіборгів", зявилися в музеї Другої світової війни в Києві. Персонажі – це символи, хоч і мають обличчя конкретних людей. Вони стали головною родзинкою експозиції "Наші". "Це фігура українського бійця, добровольця. Я виступив моделлю. Це не памятник мені, це фігура українського бійця-добровольця", – розповів захисник Донецького аеропорту Андрій Шараскін. Ці фігури – лише перший крок, розповідає Валерій Галан. Серед "кіборгів" зявляться ще дві фігури= тих, хто загинув. Більше того, наразі є понад 10 інших з різних історичних епох. Це – основа експозиції майбутнього музею становлення української нації. Над музеєм команда з 50 людей працює вже близько 15 років. Вони не мають фінансування від держави чи фондів мистецтва. Хоча кожна така фігура коштує від 10 до 30 тисяч євро. Це вже з усім вбранням. Та для облаштування усіх сучасних декорацій, діорам, голограм та оренди чи купівлі приміщення шукають партнера. Готові залучати і творчих особистостей, щоб зробити проект ще кращим. Ми своїм проектом намагаємося виховати таких патріотів, які б цінували нашу Україну, захищали її. Надіюся, що до нас можуть приєднатися люди, які також не байдужі і які також можуть фінансувати, як меценати, – зазначив автор ідеї та засновник проекту Валерій Галан. У майбутньому музеї хочуть зібрати історію українців від Трипілля до сучасності. Якщо не вдасться вмістити усе в одному приміщенні – розділять музей на три частини: у Києві, Львові та Камянці-Подільському. Однак все залежить від грошей, адже відкриття планують уже до наступного Дня незалежності.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
