18 декабря в столичном Центре современного искусства М17 откроется выставка оригинального художника Андрея Датуры "Меандры Палеолита". Киевский художник работает в технике нонфигуративной графики. Направление своего творчества он выбрал не случайно – причин много, а название выставки указывает на одну из них – увлечение первобытным искусством. "Макароны" или "меандры" из каменного века выполнены художником с помощью современных технологий. Для моделирования некоторых форм Датура использовал компьютерные программы и проекции. Впрочем, о дуальности его вкусов свидетельствует и псевдоним DATA + NATURA = DATURA. Созданный Датурой стиль не соответствует каким-либо трендам или веяниям, поэтому привлекателен в среде других современных художников и коллекционеров. Он работает в абстрактной графике, а все свои фигуративные рисунки создает на коммерческой основе. Заказчики очень не хотели "расставаться" с авторскими работами даже на время выставки! – отмечает куратор "Меандр" Алена Звычайна. Это первая публичная персональная выставка Андрея Датуры. Ранее его работы можно было увидеть на пяти капсульных выставках, организованных "для своих". Сегодня Датура – ведущий художник в популярной компании по декоративному оформлению интерьеров и экстерьеров.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
