По словам российского артиста, известного своими колкими и резкими высказываниями, рок в 80-м году прекратил свое существование как самостоятельное явление, поэтому нынешние рок-фестивали в РФ, как мертворожденные дети.

Музыкант также не согласился с популярным мнением о том, что постсоветском пространстве рэп-культура стала преемником рок-музыки. "А рэп — это негритянская музыка, которая к протесту не имеет никакого отношения. Она протестует внутри себя самой. Один рэпер протестует против другого рэпера и называется это баттлом", — сказал Лоза. Всемирный день рок-группы The Beatles (World Beatles Day) ежегодно отмечается 16 января. В этот день в 1957 году в Ливерпуле состоялось открытие клуба Cavern, где в свое время дебютировала легендарная группа. Клуб был оборудован в начале 1957 года в бывшем бомбоубежище времен Второй мировой войны в индустриальном районе Ливерпуля. Ранее Юрий Лоза, известный своими критическими высказываниями о знаменитых музыкантах и группах, заявил, что музыка ирландской рок-группы The Cranberries, чья солистка Долорес ОРиордан скоропостижно скончалась на днях, не согревает славянскую душу.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
