Третім і завершальним акордом різдвяно-новорічних святкувань є Йордан, або Водохреща, яке православні та греко-католицькі християни відзначають 19 січня. Люди вірять, що у цей день вода очищає та стає цілющою, тому усі бажаючі занурюються в ополонку, щоб бути здоровими цілий рік. До святкування Водохреща долучилася і українська співачка Руслана. На сторінці у Facebook вона влаштувала пряму трансляцію, під час якої продемонструвала свою давню традицію. Так, щороку на Водохреще знаменитість або пірнає у ополонку, або ж, якщо поблизу нема водоймища, обтирається снігом та обливається водою. Руслана у купальнику піднялася на даху будинку, облила себе холодною водою та обтерлася снігом. Також вона заспівала щедрівку після обливання. "Я нормальна українська амазонка, яка у таку студену погоду, на даху свого будинку, своєї студії, який розташований під Києвом", – розповіла Руслана. Руслана наголосила, що загартовуватися слід правильно. "Для того, щоб так робити щодня, не тільки на Водохреще, я завжди приймаю дуже холодний душ, дуже студеною водою обливаюся, дуже довго розтираюся, роблю собі масаж. Роблю я це для того, щоб ви на концерті мали від мене якомога більше драйву", – розповіла вона. Наостанок артистка зізналася, що жалкує про те, що наразі не перебуває у Карпатах. Співачка розповіла, що найближчим часом планує поїхати до Буковеля і там пірнути в озеро Молодості.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
