Україна – "зшита з різних шматків" країна, її історія та національні герої настільки різні, що державі необхідна тільки федералізація. Таку думку висловив відомий український композитор Володимир Бистяков в ефірі телеканалу NewsOne. Україні потрібна федералізація, тому що вона настільки різна, і історія різна, і герої у неї різні, як би ми не хотіли того, вона зшита з різних шматків. Ми мало нагадуємо Японію, у якої однорідне населення, одна й історія, одні герої, – заявив композитор, нібито посилаючись на слова Вячеслава Чорновола. Бистряков вважає, що в останні роки українська влада лише посилює ситуацію, що склалася, "навязуючи" перейменування вулиць на честь тих людей, які тут ніколи не були. "Тут ніколи не був Бандера, ніколи не був Шухевич. Тут ніколи не служили такі митрополити як Левицький чи Андрей Шептицький. У нас є такі чудові люди, на честь яких можна було б назвати вулиці, а не притягати сюди героїв із Галичини", – наголосив він. Після цих слів, композитор почав згадувати світових класиків літератури, запропонувавши прізвища російських, французьких поетів і письменників замість "героїв, які незрозуміло що робили" і які "нібито подвигами" прославилися. "У мене таке враження, що робиться це на зло москалям", – додав Бистряков. Хто такий Володимир Бистряков? Радянський та український композитор, піаніст, шоумен, з 1987 року – Заслужений артист Української РСР, автор музики до багатьох радянських фільмів та мультфільмів. У світлі політичних подій в Україні 2013-2017 років відомий висловлюваннями проти Євромайдану, підтримкою анексії Криму Росією. Вважає українську владу агресором на своїй же території, а багатьох з добровольчих батальйонів української армії – мародерами. Також вважає, що на Донбасі немає регулярних російських військ, а воюють переважно люди, які там живуть. Окрім того заявив, що українська влада вбиває культуру "чорними списками", через які вона "перевершила часи інквізиції".

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
