На другий день Каннського кінофестивалю-2018 відбулась премєра четвертого повнометражного фільму українського режисера Сергія Лозниці "Донбас". В екслюзивному інтерв’ю для сайту "24" герой фільму – український актор, режисер та сценарист Георгій Делієв розповів, як зустріли фільм у Каннах. За словами кіноактора, спочатку він не міг зрозуміти реакцію людей на фільм безпосередньо під час показу. Однак після завершення стрічки люди довго аплодували та не стримували емоцій. Оскільки я був у залі, то реально бачив, як люди реагували на картину. Звісно, під час показу неможливо зрозуміти, що люди відчувають. Але фільм закінчився, пішли титри, і люди дуже довго, стоячи, аплодували. І я обернувся подивитися на реакцію людей, а поруч – Бенісіо дель Торо. Він теж аплодував стоячи, – поділився Георгій Делієв. Георгій Делієв  Актор фільму "Донбас" також додав, що іноземці не завжди можуть сповна розуміти усі нюанси та мовні тонкощі в кінокартині, але сам фільм у результаті вийшов справді парадоксальним, шокуючим та часом навіть смішним. Акторський склад фільму "Донбас" Сергія Лозниці (Георгій Делієв крайній ліворуч) "У кожного героя своя інтонація, свій акцент, свій ритм. Усі різні, не схожі один на одного: дуже колоритні, яскраві персонажі. Але все зроблено так достовірно, що не видно, де професійні, а де непрофесійні актори. Це рівень документального кіно. Режисер дуже точно вихопив картинки із життя. Наче він сам спостерігав, як там все відбувається. Я впевнений, він вивчав тему, вивчав документальні кадри і з цього сплів свою канву. Тому воно сприймається як гротеск, але дуже життєвий гротеск", – підсумував Делієв. Нагадаємо, що Каннський кінофестиваль-2018 триває з 8 по 19 травня на Лазуровому узбережжі у Франції. В конкурсній програмі фестивалю також представлено декілька українських кінострічок. Оголошення лауреатів Каннського фестивалю відбудеться під час офіційної церемонії закриття події. Варто додати, що кінокартина "Донбас" Сергія Лозниці увійшла в конкурсну програму "Особливий погляд", в якій головою журі є знаменитий актор та режисер Бенісіо дель Торо.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
