Украинский режиссер Сергей Лозница 18 мая во время получения награды за лучшую режиссуру в рамках программы "Особый взгляд" Каннского кинофестиваля выразил поддержку своему коллеге Олегу Сенцову, который отбывает тюремный срок в РФ. Речь кинодраматурга опубликовала в Facebook продюсер Мария Бэйкер. "Пока идет эта церемония, на крайнем севере России, в колонии строгого режима, молодой украинский художник, наш товарищ-кинорежиссер, продолжает голодовку. Сам он, обвиненный в преступлениях, которые никогда не совершал, и несправедливо приговоренный к 20 годам тюрьмы, требует от российских властей немедленного освобождения всех украинских политических заключенных, томящихся в РФ", – отметил Лозница. Режиссер "с огромной болью и с огромным восхищением" заявил о своей солидарности с Сенцовым и со всеми кинодеятелями в разных частях света, "борющимися за свободу, за честь и, в конечном итоге, за человечность". "Как бы ни старались жестокие и деспотичные режимы преследовать нас, затыкать нам рот и заставлять нас подчиняться их правилам, искусство кино останется свободным. Режиссеры продолжат ломать каноны и выходить за рамки – в поисках знания и правды. Год за годом Каннский фестиваль доказывает это", – резюмировал он. Жюри кинофестиваля отметило Лозницу за работу над военной трагикомедией "Донбасс", основанной на документальных материалах. Благодаря победе режиссера в программе "Особый взгляд" его картина получит поддержку во французском прокате. Сенцов объявил бессрочную голодовку в колонии города Лабытнанги Тюменской области 14 мая. Режиссер потребовал освободить 64 украинских политзаключенных, но себя в список не включал. As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
