Эд Ширан Источник: GettyImages/Global Images Ukraine В Лас-Вегасе 20 мая состаялась 25-я церемония вручения престижных Billboard Music Awards.  Британский автор-исполнитель Эд Ширан стал обладателем престижной американской музыкальной премии Billboard Music Awards в главной категории "Лучший артист" по итогам 2017 года. Всего Ширан, который не смог лично присутствовать на мероприятии, был номинирован в этом году на 15 наград. Из них он получил шесть, включая премии в номинациях "Лучший исполнитель", "Лучшая песня на радио" (Shape of You) и "Лучший исполнитель чарта Billboard Hot 100". Также в 15 категориях были представлены американский рэпер Кендрик Ламар и его соотечественник Бруно Марс. Ламар стал обладателем наград, в частности, в номинациях "Лучший рэп-исполнитель" и "Лучший альбом чарта Billboard 200" (пластинка DAMN). Марс был, помимо прочего, отмечен как лучший исполнитель в стиле ритм-н-блюз, а также получил статуэтки за лучший альбом в этом жанре (24K Magic) и лучшую песню (That's What I Like). Лучшей исполнительницей по итогам года назвали американскую поп-звезду Тейлор Свифт. Награду в номинации "Лучший рок-исполнитель" получил коллектив Imagine Dragons. Эта же группа удостоилась победы в категориях "Лучший рок-альбом" (Evolve) и "Лучшая рок-песня" (Believer). Награду за лучшую песню чарта Billboard Hot 100 получила композиция Despacito пуэрториканских певцов Луиса Фонси и Дэдди Янки, записанная при участии Джастина Бибера. Напомним, в Каннах назвали лауреатов престижного кинофестиваля.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
