Благотворительный показ документального фильма "Этапом через пол-Земли: История заключения Сенцова и Кольченко" состоится 13 июня в 19:00 в киевском кинотеатре "Октябрь". Мы стремимся привлечь максимум внимания к этому, поэтому организуем благотворительный показ для сбора средств в помощь семьям украинских политзаключенных, – говорят организаторы. Почти 3 года Олег Сенцов и Александр Кольченко отбывают наказание в российских колониях строгого режима – в Лабытнанги и Челябинске. В марте создатели фильма побывали в ключевых городах пути их этапа. Они узнали, в каких условиях их содержат и какие люди занимаются их судьбами. Документалисты побывали там, куда так и не допустили украинских консулов, куда и сейчас сложно добраться адвокатам. Об увиденном и сняли фильм. Напомним, Олег Сенцов голодает с 14 мая в российской колонии в Лабытнанги. Единственное требование для прекращения голодовки Сенцова – освобождение всех украинских политзаключенных. Состояние здоровья Сенцова значительно ухудшилось – он похудел и у него начали выпадать зубы.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
