З нагоди 1030 років з Дня Хрещення Русі Українська православна церква московського патріархату у Києві провела так звану хресну ходу. Участь у заході, окрім простих вірян, взяли й деякі політики, серед яких були, зокрема, відомі представники "Опозиційного блоку" Михайло Добкін, Юрій Бойко та Олександр Вілкул. Стартувала хресна хода з чудотворними іконами уранці на Володимирській гірці та потім пройшла вулицями Києва до Печерської лаври, щоправда перед цим відбулася торжественна літургія. За словами правоохоронців, участь у ході взяли близько 20 тисяч осіб. Очолив колону очільник УПЦ МП митрополит Онуфрій. Також були присутніми присутні єпископат церкви, представники практично всіх помісних православних церков, що входять до московького патріархату. Окрім духовенства, ходу відвідали декі українські політики та кілька послів православних країн. Так, журналісти на заході помітили очільників "Опозиційного блоку" Юрія Бойка та Олександра Вілкула, а також інших членів цієї політсили Нестора Шуфрича, Вадима Новинського, Михайла Добкіна та Юрія Павленка. Долучився до урочистостей і позафракційний народний депутат Володимир Литвин. Фото: "Цензор.НЕТ" Нагадаємо, 27 липня у Києві Московський патріархат провів хресну ходу. За словами журналістки 24 каналу, дехто з учасників заходу прямував вулицями столиці із зображеннями патріарха Кирила та Миколи ІІ, який вважається святим саме у Московській церкві. Також вона додала, що якихось провокацій помічено не було. До слова, 28 липня вулицями Києва пройде хресна хода від вже УПЦ Київського патріархату, яка матиме назву "Молитва за Україну та за єдину Помісну Українську Православну Церкву".

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
