19 вересня у рамках цьогорічного Форуму видавців у Львові очільник Української греко-католицької церкви Блаженнійший Святослав Шевчук презентуватиме книгу "Діалог лікує рани". Захід відбудеться у актовій залі Львівського національного університету імені Івана Франка, початок – 14:00. Додамо, що "Діалог лікує рани" – це назва книги-інтерв’ю з Блаженнійшим Святославом авторства Кшиштофа Томасіка. Саму ж книжку присвячено 1030-ій річниці хрещення Київської Русі. Ідея полягала в тому, щоб відкрити можливість для діалогу між Греко-Католицькою Церквою в Україні та суспільством у Польщі. Загалом поляки мало що знають про Україну, українців і Греко-Католицьку Церкву. Однак, ця книжка не відповідає на всі питання, але є, мабуть, першим кроком до спільного шляху братів і сестер, які належать до однієї Церкви, – зазначає Блаженнійший Святослав. Водночас, підкреслює він, зараз чимало українців також не знають своєї історії. "Протягом століть нам забороняли вивчати власну історію. Крім того, українці мало знають про Польщу, поляків та про історію Польщі", – зауважив очільник УГКЦ. За його словами, основний меседж твору – це запрошення слухати іншого. "Діалог не означає, що я повинен з іншим погодитися в усьому. За допомогою діалогу ми стаємо образом Бога. Через діалог ми стаємо собою. Жодної альтернативи діалогу, окрім війни та ненависті, не було. Якщо ж діалогу не буде серед політичної та церковної верхівки, то люди (тобто українці та поляки) не зможуть це прийняти. Проте це можливо втілити серед молоді", – констатує священнослужитель. До слова, раніше Блаженніший Святослав Шевчук підкреслював, що УКГЦ, яку він очолює, позитивно ставиться до ініціативи створення єдиної помісної автокефальної православної церкви в Україні.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
