Одна из самых известных работ анонимного художника Бэнкси Девочка с воздушным шаром самоуничтожилась сразу после того, как ее продали на аукционе Sotheby’s в Лондоне. Об этом сообщает Daily Mirror в субботу, 6 октября. В 2006 году художник нарисовал единственный экземпляр картины акриловыми красками на холсте. Произведение было заключено в тяжелую позолоченную раму, в которую, как выяснилось в итоге, был встроен и шредер. Изначально картина оценивалась примерно в 250-400 тысяч долларов, однако в ходе аукциона ее продали за 1,4 млн долларов. Сразу после удара молотка в раме включился измельчитель бумаги, который изрезал холст до половины на мелкие полоски. Представители Sotheby’s уже связались с покупателем, он был "удивлен". Сейчас обсуждаются дальнейшие действия. Согласно правилам аукциона, покупатель может отказаться от лота, если он был поврежден. Однако не исключено, что теперь стоимость картины только возрастет. Ранее в Лондоне в галерее Lazinc открылась выставка, которая демонстрирует лучшие работы Бэнкси. Экспозиция включает 40 работ автора и называется "Величайшие хиты: 2002-2008". As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza.
