Украинское документальное кино отечественных режиссеров Леонида Кантера и Ивана Ясния "Миф" о погибшем на войне оперном певце и добровольце Василии Слипаке отобрали в программу фестивалей DocsMX в Мехико, Ukraїna! 3 Festiwal Filmowy в Польше и DocnRoll FF в Лондоне. Об этом сообщила продюсер Катерина Мизина. Фильм создали при поддержке Госкино Украины и благотворителей со всего мира. Премьера фильма в Украине состоялась 8 февраля 2018 года. После этого фильм показали в США, Канаде и восьми странах Европы. Лента получила главные награды на украинских кинофестивалях, а также фильм отметили гран-при и отличием за монтаж на фестивале Figueira Film Art в Португалии. Также в октябре фильм продемонстрируют в Гданьске в рамках Украинской Недели. Ленту представят авторы: режиссер Иван Ясной и продюсер Екатерина Мизина. Даты показов: 14 октября, 18:00 – Мехико, фестиваль "DocsMX" 16 октября, 21:45 – Мехико, фестиваль "DocsMX" 24 октября, 18: 00 – Гданьск, Украинская неделя 27 октября, 17:00 – Варшава, фестиваль Ukraїna! 3 Festiwal Filmowy 14 ноября, 18:00 – Лондон, фестиваль "DocnRoll FF" Кто такой Василий Слипак? Всемирно известный украинский оперный певец, солист Парижской национальной оперы, волонтер. Участвовал в боевых действиях на востоке Украины. Погиб на Донбассе от пули вражеского снайпера. У него был позывной "Миф".

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
