Шість сучасних скульптур створили митці у режимі реального часу у рамках Kyiv International Sculpture Symposium, що проходив на ВДНГ. Тепер їх може оцінити кожен охочий. Так, упродовж місяця у Киві на території ВДНГ працювали шість знаменитих скульпторів з чотирьох країн світу — України, Канади, Німеччини та Іспанії. Владислав Волосенко, Амансіо Гонзалез, Петро Гронський, Джо Клей, Володимир Кочмар та Василь Татарський створювали скульптури просто неба, завдяки чому тисячі відвідувачів парку могли спостерігати за їх роботою. Варто зазначити, що Kyiv International Sculpture Symposium — знакова подія для всієї України, оскільки це перший скульптурний симпозіум в мармурі та граніті, що відбувся у Києві за роки незалежності. Останній проходив на ВДНГ у 1988 році. Джо Клей спілкується з відвідувачами Цьогорічний симпозіум присвячений Олександру Архипенку – всесвітньо відомому українському скульптору, законодавця світової авангардної скульптури. Презентація готових витворів із мармуру та граніту відбудеться 12 жовтня о 18:00 і стане відкритою для всіх бажаючих. Крім шістьох великих скульптур, зроблених під час симпозіуму, відвідувачі матимуть змогу побачити сучасну арт відео-інсталяцію та оцінити інші роботи митців. As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
