В рамках міжнародного форуму "Креативна Україна", що відбувся 8-9 листопада у Києві, було оприлюднено результати першого в історії України дослідження вітчизняної модної індустрії. Спікери обговорили ситуацію з культурним середовищем та модною індустрією для розвитку українського креативного підприємництва. На форумі були присутні Прем’єр-міністр Володимир Гройсман, Міністр культури Євген Нищук та інші представники країн Європейського Союзу та України. Масштабне дослідження про модну індустрію в Україні, яке показало частку дизайну жіночого одягу в економіці країни, проведели за сприяння Українського Культурного Фонду. Міжнародний форум "Креативна Україна" / 24 канал Одна зі спікерів та представників дослідження Анна Варава зазначила, що Україна має величезний потенціал у напрямку дизайну та креативної індустрії в цілому, однак держава повинна звернути увагу на забезпечення кращих умов та системної підтримки цій сфері. Крім того Варава окреслила фактори, які можуть збільшити частку легкої промисловості у ВВП України в 40 разів, з 0,06% до 2,4%. Українські дизайнери та модельєри – привабливий партнер для зарубіжних гравців через дешеву робочу силу, але потрібно працювати і на себе, створюючи нацiональнi бренди і збільшуючи ВВП країни, – прокоментувала культурний дипломат. Культурний дипломат Анна Варава / 24 канал В рамках форуму "Креативна Україна" відбулись також презентації останніх тенденцій розвитку дизайну, моди, книговидавництва, а також бізнес-консультації та лекції за участю міжнародних експертів. Організатори заходу додають, що такий форум повинен сприяти співпраці між органами влади, суспільством та різними секторами економіки, щоб налагодити партнерство між державою та приватною власністю.

As a film critic of medium-low importance, one of my most sacred duties is participating in the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) year-end awards extravaganza. During this hallowed time of year, I watch dozens of movies and mine my own recollection of the good, the bad, and the ugly to determine what, precisely, the best films of the year were. At the end of this grueling process—this death march through endless stacks of DVDs, searching for the rarest pearl in an ever-increasing sea of muck—we WAFCA members nominate up to five films/people in each category. The five films/people who earn the most votes in every category are then voted upon by the whole of the membership, the winners are chosen, the press release is sent out, and blessed, blessed relief descends upon us as we put the exercise to rest for 11 months.
