Второй - флавоноид кверцетин - обладает способностью уменьшать размер раковых клеток. Канадские эксперты утверждают, что полезными для здоровья являются любые разновидности лука, вне зависимости от его цвета. Авторы эксперта пришли к выводу о том, что лук превосходно справляется с задачей уничтожения раковых клеток, поскольку активирует биологические пути, которые побуждают клетки к совершению самоубийства. Известно, что для развития опухолей создается нетерпимое обстановка, между клетками нарушаются связи, и это подавляет рост болезни. Но наиболее мощными способностями в деле борьбы с раком обладает именно красный лук. Свои выводы ученые озвучили после того, как поместили клетки опухолей кишечника в прямой контакт с экстрактом кверцетина, который был добыт из 5 разновидностей лука, лучше всех справился красный лук. Некоторые скептики замечают, что во время этих исследований было лишь точно установлено, что лук воздействует на клетки рака груди, однако экстракты определенных разновидностей лука справились с уничтожением раковых клеток только в лаборатории.
