Четыре года назад жительница Филиппин Эдита Дадорес обратилась в больницу с жалобами на боли в носу. Врачи поставили ей диагноз — обыкновенный синусит, и прописали лекарства. Однако, женщине становилось все хуже. Выяснилось, что в ее носовой полости образовалась доброкачественная опухоль — инвертированная папиллома, которая стремительно росла. В 2015 году женщине сделали операцию и прописали новый курс лечения таблетками. Однако, это не помогло. Опухоль достигла огромных размеров, сломав и раздробив на части передние кости черепа 71-летней женщины — матери шестерых детей и бабушки 16 внуков. Сейчас Эдита находится в больнице города Падаван. Женщине трудно разговаривать, есть и спать. Медики пока не уверены, что им делать дальше. Некоторые врачи рекомендуют сделать пластику лица, но предупреждают, что это довольно рискованно.
