Ученые из Шри-Венкатешварского университета выяснили особые свойства черного перца, употребление которого в пищу даже с жирной едой помогает сбросить вес. Об этом сообщает Nutrition and Metabolism.
В своем исследовании специалисты провели эксперимент на крысах, страдающих ожирением. В течение 22 недель их рацион состоял лишь из жирной пищи. На 16-й неделе эксперимента ученые разделили грызунов на экспериментальную и контрольную группы и стали добавлять в еду крыс из первой группы добытый из семян черного перца гелиотропин - ароматический альдегид с запахом, напоминающим ваниль или корицу.
В конце 22-й недели у подопытных зверей из экспериментальной группы увеличилась нежировая масса тела, повысились минеральная насыщенность костной ткани и минеральная плотность костей. Кроме того, гелиотропин помог сократить уровень сахара в крови грызунов уже через 60 минут после употребления альдегида.
Исследователи пришли к выводу, что гелиотропин помогает управлять некоторыми генами, связанными с ожирением, и может быть использован в качестве препарата для похудения.
