Так, поедание этого молочного продукта пусть даже в небольших количествах понижает вероятность развития инфаркта или инсульта примерно на 17-21%. "Мы давно предполагали, что долговременное употребление йогурта может снижать шансы заполучить болезни сердечно-сосудистой системы, так как подобные эффекты были открыты у некоторых других кисломолочных продуктов. Мы показали, что это действительно так, наблюдая за очень большим числом мужчин и женщин с высоким давлением, за чьей жизнью мы следили в некоторых случаях более 30 лет", - рассказывает Джастин Буэндия из Бостонского университета (США). Сегодня большинство ученых считает, что диета и отдельные продукты питания оказывают сильное влияние не только на вес человека, но и на здоровье его мозга, сосудов, сердца и других ключевых органов тела. К примеру, недавно ученые показали, что употребление больших количеств оливкового масла и средиземноморских блюд заметно понижает шансы умереть от инсульта или инфаркта, а чрезмерно большое количество соли в пище, наоборот, ухудшает здоровье кровеносной системы. Буэндия и его коллеги выяснили, что йогурты благотворно влияют на органы кровообращения, изучив данные, собранные социальными и здравоохранительными службами в рамках проекта по мониторингу здоровья среди медсестер (NHS) и медработников (HPFS), которые проводились в США с 1980 по 2012 год. В общей сложности ученым удалось получить данные по диете и здоровью свыше 73 тысяч американцев в среднем и пожилом возрасте, примерно четыре тысячи которых умерло за время работы этих проектов. Это позволило Буэндии и его коллегам понять, какие компоненты их диеты были связаны с преждевременной кончиной, а какие - отдаляли смерть и укрепляли здоровье. Как показал этот анализ данных, употребление даже небольших количеств йогурта - около двух порций в неделю - достаточно сильно влияет на состояние сердечно-сосудистой системы и у мужчин, и у женщин. К примеру, вероятность развития инсультов и инфарктов у медсестер и врачей снижалась в таких случаях примерно на 17 и 21%. Вдобавок, шансы заполучить любые другие болезни сердца и сосудов снизились на 16% для женщин, и на 31% - у мужчин, если они питались здоровой диетой. Почему это происходит, ученые пока не знают, однако они предполагают, что благотворное действие йогурта связано с тем, что он стимулирует производство моноокиси азота, расслабляющей сосуды и заставляющей их расширяться, а содержащиеся в нем ферменты могут препятствовать формированию холестериновых бляшек на их стенках. И то, и другое продлевает жизнь сердцу и сосудам и понижает вероятность развития проблем с ними в пожилые годы жизни.
