Слабо пьющие люди (употребляющие в неделю три пинты (0,47 л) пиваили один бокал вина на протяжение всей жизни) имеют самый низкий риск заболеть раком. К такому выводу пришли ученые из Королевского университета Белфаста. Об этом сообщает журнал PLOS Medicine. Ученые проанализировали данные обследования здоровья 99 654 человек возрастом от 55 до 74 лет, за каждым из которых в среднем наблюдали около девяти лет. Все участники исследования заполнили анкеты с вопросами об употреблении алкоголя на разных этапах их жизни. После этого добровольцев условно разделили на восемь групп в зависимости от количества выпитого алкоголя. У сильно пьющих (три или более алкогольных напитков каждый день) оказался самый высокий риск ранней смерти, а риск развития рака составил 21%. За этой группой следуют люди, которые выпивали по два-три напитка каждый день – они на 10% чаще умирали молодыми или заболевали раком.  Для редко пьющих (один напиток каждую неделю) риск заболевания раком составил 8% процентов, а для тех, кто вообще не употребляет алкоголь, он составлял 7%. Самый лучший результат показали люди, которые употребляли в неделю от одного до трех алкогольных напитков. При увеличении доз алкоголя риск сразу возрастает. "Предыдущие исследования постоянно выявляли, что умеренные пьющие живут дольше, чем абсолютные трезвенники", - отметил доктор Эндрю Кунцманн. Данные же этого исследования показали, что даже умеренное потребление алкоголя связано с повышенным риском развития рака. "Питье алкоголя - это личный выбор, и мы не должны указывать людям, могут ли они или не могут пить", - добавил ученый. При этом он предостерег от вывода, что слабое употребление алкоголя продлевает жизнь, так как такая позиция еще оспаривается в научных кругах. "Было высказано предположение, что легкое употребление алкоголя может оказать благотворное влияние на здоровье сердца, хотя это еще не доказано.Легкие пьющие также могут иметь более низкий риску преждевременной смерти, поскольку они, как правило, более богаты, поэтому могут иметь более широкий доступ к здравоохранению и часто придерживаются здорового образа жизни, например, быть более физически активными. Мы считаем, что было бы нецелесообразно рекомендовать трезвенникам начинать пить на основе этих результатов, учитывая неопределенность", - подытожил Кунцманн.
