"I hope that the paths of Turkey and the EU will continue in the same direction, and that the result of this... will eventually be Turkey’s membership, full membership, of the European Union," Duda said after meeting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Duda added that Erdogan’s one-day trip to Warsaw was “an important visit, related to political cooperation between Poland and Turkey, also related to a huge degree to economic cooperation between Poland and Turkey."
"We talked about both military cooperation and cultural cooperation," Duda said.
The Polish president added that his “very frank” talks with Erdogan touched on the situation in Turkey "after tragic, dramatic events, after a coup attempt in Turkey last year."
Later on Tuesday, Erdogan was to meet Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło.
A Polish-Turkish business forum was being held in Warsaw to accompany Erdogans visit.
