US Treasury Secretary vows to dwell on new sanctions against Russia soon The U.S. Department of Treasury is developing new restrictive measures which shall be imposed against Russia under the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act while more details will be announced in the near future.U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told a briefing in the White House on Thursday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform. According to the official, the Treasury Department is now focused on developing new sanctions against the Russian Federation specifics of which will be announced in the near future. Russia in response restricted U.S. diplomatic missions access to several facilities and demanded to shorten the staff of the mission by 755 people by Sept. 1.Trump signed the new bill on Russia sanctions on Aug. 2, but in a signing statement, he said he sees serious flaws in this document, although signs it for the sake of the national unity.
