The speaker of Poland’s lower house of parliament, Marek Kuchciński, said the counties’ good results in Pyeongchang -- with one gold and one bronze medal for Poland and one gold and two silver medals for Slovakia –encouraged a return to talks about a joint Olympic bid, onet.pl reported.
Kuchciński was quoted by onet.pl as saying that preparing for Winter Olympics would be an opportunity to “build and expand sports and tourism infrastructure together”.
The Speaker of Slovakia’s unicameral parliament Andrej Danko said the countries would be capable of organising winter games, according to onet.pl.
Kuchciński was in Slovakia on Monday and Tuesday.
During his visit to Bratislava, Kuchciński is also to meet Slovak President Andrej Kiska and Prime Minister Robert Fico. (aba/pk)
