Tchórz clocked a time of 26.09 in Saturday’s final, finishing just behind Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu, a triple Olympic champion from Rio, who grabbed the gold with 25.95. The bronze went to the Netherlands’ Maaike de Waard, who touched the wall in 26.40.
This was Poland’s third medal of the Copenhagen event, which began on Wednesday.
Earlier Radosław Kawęcki won the silver in the men’s 200m backstroke, and Poland also took the bronze in the men’s 4x50m freestyle relay.
On Sunday, the last day of the event, Poland’s Konrad Czerniak, a multiple world championship medalist, was expected to compete for a medal in the men’s 100 m freestyle. He had made the final with the fifth-best time of 46.99.
