The stamp, issued by the Polish postal service, went into circulation as the 21st World Cup was set to begin in Russia on Thursday.
The Polish national football team was gearing up to take on Senegal, Colombia and Japan in the group stage of the tournament.
Polands all-time top scorer, Lewandowski bagged a remarkable 16 goals from 10 games in his team’s World Cup qualifying campaign, setting a European qualifying record.
Lewandowski, who captains Polands national squad and plays for Germany’s Bayern Munich club, was in mid-May crowned the top scorer of Germanys Bundesliga premier league in the 2017/2018 season.
In addition to notching up a strong Bundesliga season, Lewandowski scored five goals in this season’s Champions League, where his Bayern lost in the semifinals to Real Madrid.
