Russia’s Tatyana Lysenko was retroactively disqualified in 2016 after she was caught in the retesting of stored doping samples.
Poland’s sportowefakty website reported that Włodarczyk officially received news on Tuesday that she had been awarded the gold for the 2012 Games.
The decision means Włodarczyk now officially has two Olympic gold medals. She won the womens hammer throw in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Włodarczyk, a three-time world champion, took the gold in the womens hammer throw at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin on Sunday.
